This walking robot dog is from the 1989 № 4 set Meccano manual, but if the original instructions are followed there is no hope of it walking as it will be way too heavy for the gearing specified.

In my version I have reduced weight by removing the heavy C-type batteries and introducing more gearing. Some cosmetic and structural improvements have also been made by using parts unavailable in the original set.
