London Meccano Club

londonmeccanoclub.org.uk

In 2012 I started the London Meccano Club inititive to raise public awareness of London’s Meccano clubs and societies.

Leaflet

The London Meccano Club Events Guide leaflet is available at all major Meccano events and lists meetings and events organised by each of London’s six Meccano clubs and societies, giving the public an easy way to find out what’s on near them. The printable guide is updated quarterly and may be freely reprinted and distributed.

Social media

The London Meccano Club Facebook and Twitter profiles receive automatic event reminder postings and also feature photographs and videos from Meccano events in and around London.

On YouTube the London Meccano Club channel features videos of models, exhibitions and competitions from Meccano events in London and elsewhere in the UK.

Website

The London Meccano Club website is an interactive events guide which includes additional minor events that are not featured in the Events Guide leaflet for space reasons. Visitors can choose to view events in their area by selecting a venue on the map of London, or they can select one of the Meccano clubs above the map or one of the upcoming events below the map.

Administration

The website is fully database-driven which means that it automatically displays current and upcoming events and removes events that have ended. An administration system allows club, venue and event details to be edited.
