Electronics Club Circuits Workshop

In September 2023 I collaborated with John Hewes at the Electronics Club to create an electronics experience for visitors to the South East London Meccano Club Meccano Show.

The goal was to give visitors a practical introduction to electronics, offering them a complete kit of parts that they could use to build some simple — but interesting — circuits, either at the show or at home.

The instruction sheets are laid out to make for easy reading, and start out by asking visitors to build a circuit for a flashing LED on breadboard. Visitors can then continue to build upon this, creating circuits for level crossing lights, cat eyes, an alarm box light, a lighthouse and traffic lights. For those who want to know more, the final two sheets give a brief explanation of the components used and how the circuits work.

Demonstration models

To demonstate three of the circuits I built Meccano models of a traffic light, lighthouse and cat, with space behind each to accomodate the breadboards.
